The DPA 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Mic is a perfect solution for a variety of professional broadcasting applications such as interviews and voice-overs. Due to its extremely compact and lightweight form factor, the 4097 Micro Shotgun makes a perfect “plant mic” for film production — simply mount it directly on the transmitter, and hide it on set and you’re ready to roll. Built tough to stand up to the rigors of film and video production as well as run-and-gun ENG applications, the 4097 Micro Shotgun features a tight supercardioid polar pattern that captures voices clearly while attenuating background noise. The 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Mic boasts a supercardioid polar pattern, along with low self-noise and high sensitivity. Its built-in shockmount minimizes unwanted bumps and rumbles, while its linear response, low distortion, and ample dynamic range ensure natural-sounding audio reproduction. Its impressive SPL handling can withstand the full onslaught of loud vocals or heated dialog. Most impressive, however, is its uniform off-axis response, which retains every ounce of a source’s tone — it just lowers its volume. CORE is the powerful technology at the heart of DPA’s miniature mics. The 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Mic employs a pre-polarized, small-diaphragm condenser capsule with a supercardioid polar pattern mounted inside a small interference tube, which, in turn, resides inside a replaceable miniature foam windscreen. CORE technology minimizes distortion across the 4097’s dynamic range, delivering amazing clarity and natural openness. The 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Mic — like all of DPA’s CORE microphones — is IP58 certified for durability, with a dual gold-plated diaphragm, hermetically sealed amplifier, and water-repellant nano-coated housing. This meticulous attention to detail means that the 4097 Micro Shotgun will perform flawlessly, even under the most severe operating conditions.
