Hi Sally,   Thank you so much for having and shipping the idler wheel so fast!  I have missed playing my RCA 45 player and now I have it back! A while ago I purchased a similar idler wheel on eBay however after a few hundred plays my unit started making a squeaking sound and the speed was erratic. I disassembled the player and discovered the idler wheel was binding up because it had no bearing. Obviously RCA designed the original part with an oilite bearing to provide constant lubrication because you have to take the entire unit apart to get to that location. Anyway I'm happy my new idler has that same oilite bearing and I checked the speed with a Speed-O-Strobe and it is perfect.  Thanks to you my music has never sounded so good.  I just load a stack of 45's and rock on. Ever wonder why you hear an annoying "Thump-Thump-Thump" from your RCA 45 player?  It's because in these models RCA did not provide a neutral position to separate the idler wheel from the motor shaft.  After a period of time the shaft will indent the rubber and with every revolution you get that thump sound. Our "Forever" RCA idler wheel is just that. Precision engineered for accurate speed AND will never, ever thump, thump, thump.
