    Description

    This is a set of two new crossover capacitors for one, Original, Large Advent speaker. This replaces the old original capacitors which may have failed or shifted in value over the years. The original capacitors were of electrolytic design and not known for long life.  Two sets are required for a pair of speakers.
    Depending on the year of manufacture, there were three different capacitor values. We have included all three but you will only use two matching them up to what is installed. They are a bit larger than the electrolytic originals but have been successfully installed in Advent cabinets as a trial installation.
    These replacements are computer grade of superior quality to the originals. They have outstanding frequency response, high current capability and will not deteriorate with age like many of the old style electrolytic capacitors of years ago. A schematic diagram will be included to assist with the change out. Match up one replacement capacitor to the original by value. Cut the original leads close to the capacitor. Wire nut the replacement capacitor to the leads cut from the original capacitor.
    As you will need to remove the woofer for this installation, we suggest that you purchase a package of cabinet sealer in Dept. OTHER SPEAKER SERVICE PARTS. These Advent speakers are acoustic suspension and rely on a tightly sealed cabinet for those low bass notes.
    Since you will be removing the woofer, carefully inspect the foam surround as it's likely that if it is original, it is
    beginning
    to fail around the edges. This would be a good time to replace it. They can be found in Dept. SPEAKER SURROUNDS.
