Saber wz. 34 "Ludwikówka" used in cavalry regiments in the years 1935–1939. It was the last Polish combat saber used in the war in September 1939. On July 1, 1938, the Polish Army of the Second Republic of Poland possessed 39,564 such sabers. The name "Ludwikówka" came from the place of production, ie from Huta "LUDWIKÓW" in Kielce, and the name was derived from the name of the founder. Scabbard length 987, without scabbard 953 A blade with a wide, concave cut on both amphibians, running from the root to the double-edged feather, and with a deep back groove, shorter than the main cut on the handle side and on the feather side. Feather 230 mm long, with a slightly marked bone on both amphibians. At the root of the blade on the inside, the stamps: H. LUDWIKÓW / KIELCE, on the outside, S. wz. 34. On the crest of the base J1 in an oval and the number 3070. Closed handle, with single-bow brass guard. Bow bent at the bottom at right angles, flat. Rhomboidal mustache. The hind leg of the crossguard is straight, with a constriction in the middle and a pear-shaped sling hole at the end. The head is slightly tilted to the front, with a cap in which there is a brass nut fixing it on the shaft of the blade. The handle is made of two wooden lugs, cut in 11 notches. Cladding fastened with two steel screws with brass nuts on the inside of the handle. A brass ring with a mustache cut under the handle. A leather pad under the handle. Sheath made of steel sheet with one groove with a movable support wheel. A spur with a rectangular outline with a slightly longer front arm. On the spur, on the outer side, the number 3070, and on the inner side, J1 in an oval.
These items are not in perfect condition, have various damages and are dirty, but after about 80 years they are in good condition.
