    Description

Very pretty (and somewhat rare) ceramic "Show Stoppers" doll "Amelia" - unusual as she is laying down.  This limited edition doll includes a lace covered pillow (not sure if that was original or not).
This is a truly lovely porcelain doll by doll maker Florence Maranuk who founded Show Stopper Dolls in 1983.  Florence is also known as Flossie and when founding her company in 1983 her premier doll was presented at the New York Gift Show.  She was born in Hazletown, PA and currently resides in Brigantine, NJ.  Her love of travel and fascination with people and children throughout the world is deeply reflected in her designs.  She currently heads a team of national and international sculptors and costume designers.  "Attention to detail" is the cornerstone of her success.  She uses quality materials combined with expressive sculpting and innovative designs which combine to allow her dolls to speak for themselves.  Her dolls are made of porcelain (this one has a cloth body) and are meticulously hand-painted.  I love the paint job on this one!  Her dolls are avidly sought out by knowledgeable collectors and are highly accredited.  They have won awards such as the prestigious D.O.T.Y. award, which is for Doll Reader Magazine's, Industry's choice "Doll of the Year".  Her Beauty and the Beast was nominated for the Dolls Award of Excellence.  This doll is posed in an unusual manner ".  She looks like she should be laying in the grass playing and having fun.  She is number 1105 in a limited edition of 3000.  She is in excellent condition but the original hair net she was shipped with is missing.

We do not try to make money on our shipping, as many others do, pretending to give you a good deal and hoping you don't notice that you are getting stiffed by the shipping (.99 for a 40z item, .99 for shipping.  Really???).  We charge only actual calculated shipping costs + .00 for packaging and handling (even using recycled boxes and packaging whenever possible, bubble wrap costs money).
